ज्याला मराठीत आपण व्यवसायिक सामाजिक जबाबदारी असं म्हणतो.

सामाजिक जबाबदारी म्हणजे समाजाप्रती असलेली जबाबदारी.

आपण समाजाला काहीतरी देणे लागतो आणि त्यासाठी समाजाला फायदा होईल असं काम केलं पाहिजे.

कंपन्यांमध्ये निसर्गातील साधन संपत्तीचा वापर करून नफा मिळवला जातो.

त्याबदल्यात परतफेड करण्याची जबाबदारी असावी म्हणून सीएसआर निधीची तरतूद करण्यात आली.

खाजगी क्षेत्रातील कंपन्या नफ्याचा काही भाग बाजूला काढून ठेवतात.

एक सामाजिक जबाबदारी म्हणून या निधीतून समाजोपयोगी कार्य करण्यात येते.

सन १९५६ मध्ये अस्तित्वात आलेल्या या कायद्यात २०१३ साली काही महत्त्वाचे बदल करण्यात आले.

त्यातील सीएसआर कायदा म्हणजेच सेक्शन १३५.

भारतातील उद्योगांच्या सामाजिक बांधिलकी वर आधारित कायदा आहे.

आता हा कायदा कोणाला लागू होतो?

तर सेक्शन १३५ अशा कंपन्यांना लागू होतो,

ज्यांची एकूण वार्षिक उलाढाल एक हजार करोड रुपये किंवा त्यापेक्षा जास्त आहे,

ज्यांची एकूण मालमत्ता ५०० करोड रुपये किंवा अधिक असेल किंवा

ज्या कंपनीचा निव्वळ वार्षिक नफा पाच करोड रुपये किंवा त्याहून जास्त आहे.

अशा सर्व उद्योगांना त्यांच्या नात्यातील किमान दोन टक्के रक्कम सामाजिक कामात गुंतवणे सक्तीचे आहे.
