लाल बहादूर शास्त्री यांच्याविषयी बरेच काही … घ्या जाणून
भारतीय स्वातंत्र्य चळवळीतील निष्ठावान कार्यकर्ते, थोर राष्ट्रभक्त आणि भारताचे दुसरे पंतप्रधान म्हणून लाल बहादूर शास्त्रींना ओळखले जाते. त्यांचे मूळ आडनाव हे श्रीवास्तव होते, परंतु त्यांनी या आडनावाचा व्यवहारात कधीही उपयोग केला नाही. त्यांचा जन्म बनारसजवळील मोगलसराई या वसाहतीत झाला. त्यांच्या आईचे नाव रामदुलरिदेवी तर वडिलांचे नाव शारदाप्रसाद होते. त्यांची आई पारंपरिक धार्मिक वृत्तीची होती. शारदाप्रसाद सुरुवातीला प्राथमिक शिक्षक होते नंतर ते शासकीय लिपिक झाले. लाल बहादूर दीड वर्षाचे असताना त्यांचे वडिल वारले . त्यानंतर त्यांचे कुटुंब बनारसजवळ रामनगरला स्थायिक झाले.
शैक्षणिक जीवन:-
१९२१ मध्ये महात्मा गांधीजींनी असहकाराची चळवळ केली. त्यांच्या विचारसरणीकडे शास्त्री आकर्षित झाले, गांधीवादी बनले आणि त्यांनी मॅट्रिकला असताना शाळा सोडली. काशी विद्यापीठातून तत्वज्ञान विषयात १९२५ साली पहिल्या वर्गात त्यांनी शास्त्री ही पदवी घेतली. शिकत असताना त्यांच्यावर डॉ. भगवानदास , गोपालशास्त्री या अध्यापकांचा प्रभाव पडला. लाला लजपतराय यांच्या विचारांनीदेखील शास्त्रीजी प्रभावित झाले. त्यांनी स्थापन केलेल्या ‘सरवंट्स ऑफ द पीपल’ या संस्थेचे आजीव सेवक म्हणून शास्त्रींनी काम पाहिले. मिर्झापुरमधील ललितादेवी यांच्याशी त्यांचा १९२७ मध्ये विवाह झाला.
लाल बहादूर शास्त्री यांचा सामाजिक व राजकीय प्रवास:-
लाल बहादूर शास्त्रींनी सामाजिक क्षेत्रातील संघटनांतून अनेक पदांवर काम केले. १९२८ ते १९३५ या कालावधीत प्रयाग नगरपालिकेचे सदस्य, उत्तर विधानसभेचे सदस्य, १९३७ मध्ये पार्लमेंटरी बोर्डाचे सचिव अशी अनेक पदे त्यांनी भूषविली. स्वतंत्र चळवळीत त्यांना सात वेळा अटक होऊन नऊ वर्षे कारावास भोगावा लागला. १९४६ मध्ये उत्तर प्रदेश विधानसभेवर ते काँग्रेसतर्फे निवडून आले. गोविंद पंतांच्या मंत्रिमंडळात त्यांच्याकडे गृह आणि दळणवळण खाते देण्यात आले. शास्त्रींची समन्वयवादी वृत्ती आणि संघटनकौशल्य लक्षात घेऊन पंडित नेहरूंनी त्यांना राज्यसभेचे सभासद करून केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडळात रेल्वे आणि वाहतूक खात्याचे मंत्री केले. लाल बहादूर शास्त्रींनी पश्चिम बंगालमध्ये चित्तरंजन कारखान्याची उभारणी केली. यावेळी केरळमध्ये आरियालूरचा भीषण रेल्वे अपघात झाला. या अपघाताची नैतिक जबाबदारी स्वीकारत त्यांनी रेल्वेमंत्रीपदाचा राजीनामा दिला. पंडित जवाहरलाल नेहरुंनी प्रशासनाच्या शुद्धीकरणासाठी कामराज योजना अंमलात आणली. डोईजड सहकाऱ्यांना राजीनामा देण्याचेही त्यांनी सांगितले. यावेळी शास्त्रींसह सहा मंत्र्यांनी राजीनामे दिले. पंडितजींनी पुन्हा त्यांना बिनखात्याचे मंत्री म्हणून घेतले. २७ मे १९६४ रोजी पंडित नेहरूंचे निधन झाले. संसदीय सभेने ९ जून १९६४ रोजी शास्त्रींची पंतप्रधान म्हणून एकमताने निवड केली. त्यांच्या कारकिर्दीत भारत-पाक युद्धाची एक कसोटीची घटना त्यांनी अत्यंत खंबीरपणे हाताळली.
लाल बहादूर शास्त्री यांचा मृत्यू
१० जानेवारी १९६६ ला रशिया आणि अमेरिका च्या दबावाखाली लाल बहादूर शास्त्री भारत-पाकिस्तान शांती करारावर स्वाक्षरी करण्यास तयार झाले. पाकिस्तान चे राष्ट्रपती अयुब खान आणि भारताचे पंतप्रधान लाल बहादूर शास्त्री यांची भेट रशियातील ताश्कंद मध्ये झाली. असे म्हटले जाते की त्यांच्यावर दबाव टाकून हस्ताक्षर करण्यास सांगितले गेले. ११ जानेवारी १९६६ मध्ये कराराच्या रात्री अतिशय रहस्यपूर्ण पद्धतीने त्यांचा मृत्यू झाला. त्या वेळी सांगण्यात आले की त्यांची मृत्यू हृदयविकाराने झाली. परंतु त्यांचे शवविच्छेदन करण्यात आले नाही.
असेही म्हटले जाते की लालबहादूर शास्त्री यांच्या भोजनात विष मिळवण्यात आले होते. परंतु पाकिस्तान, अमेरिका आणि रशिया यांच्या भीतीने भारताने त्या वेळी कोणतीही विरुद्ध कारवाई केली नाही. शास्त्री यांचा शासन काळ १८ महिन्याचा होता, त्यांच्या मृत्यू नंतर गुलजारी लाल नंदा यांना देशाचे पंतप्रधान म्हणून निवडण्यात आले. लाल बहादूर शास्त्री यांना मृत्यू नंतर १९६६ मध्ये भारताचा सर्वोच्च नागरी सन्मान ‘भारतरत्न’ देण्यात आला. शास्त्री एक महान, निष्ठावान आणि सक्षम व्यक्तीच्या रूपात ओळखले जातात.
