मानवी आयुष्य हे स्पर्धेचं आयुष्य. इतर प्राणीमात्रांमध्ये नसते एवढी स्पर्धा ही मानवाच्या आयुष्यात प्रत्येक क्षणी अनुभवायला मिळतं असते. मात्र आयुष्याकडून हव्या असणाऱ्या अपेक्षांच्या पूर्ततेसाठी ही स्पर्धा कधी जीवघेणी स्पर्धा बनते हे समजतच नाही. आणि मग सुरू होतो श्वासांच्या धडपडीचा खेळ. मात्र शक्यतो यात नेहमी काळचं जिंकतो.

ऑटोमोबाईल इंजिनिअरिंगच शिक्षण घेऊन आयुष्यात अधिकारी बनण्याचं स्वप्न पाहिले होत प्रीतम कांबळे या युवकाने. यासाठी एमपीएससीच्या अनिश्चितता ठासून भरलेल्या क्षेत्रात तो प्रवेश करतो. आपल्या सर्व ताकदीच्या सीमांना तो मर्यादेपेक्षा अधिक ताणून अक्षरशः जीव तोडून अभ्यास करतो. पण नियतीला काही वेगळंच मान्य होत. कोरोनाने परीक्षांच्या नियोजनावर अनिश्चितता आली आणि सगळं गणित बिघडलं.

पुण्यासारख्या ठिकाणी कोरोना अक्षरशः हातपाय पसरून निजला होता. अशा या महाजालात जाऊन तो स्वतःच्या बुद्धीचा कस पाहत होता. परवाच्या राज्यसेवा परीक्षेच्या दोन दिवस अगोदर त्याला अचानक त्रास जाणवू लागला. काहीतरी अघटित घडणार याची किंबहुना त्याला कल्पना आली असावी. पण इतरांना त्रास नको म्हणून त्याने लगेचच आपली कोव्हीड चाचणी करून घेतली. आणि जे व्हायचं तेच झालं. तो कोव्हीड पॉझिटिव्ह आला. उद्यावर येऊन ठेपलेली कित्येक महिन्यांच्या प्रतीक्षेनंतरची राज्यसेवा परीक्षा आणि त्यात कोव्हीड पॉझिटिव्ह. हातातोंडाशी आलेला घास नियती हिरावून घेत आहे की काय अशीच ही परिस्थिती. दुसऱ्या दिवशी म्हणजेच पेपर होता त्या दिवशी त्याची तब्येत आणखीन बिघडली. यातच त्याला उपचारासाठी प्रथम पुणे आणि नंतर सांगलीला दाखल केले. मात्र दुर्दैवाने दोन दिवसांपूर्वी त्याची मृत्यूशी चाललेली झुंज संपली. एका स्वप्नाचा असा शेवट होणे हे नक्कीच दुःखद आणि वेदनादायी आहे. प्रीतम हा फक्त कोरोनाचा बळी नसून तो व्यवस्था,राजकीय अनास्था, सामाजिक दडपण आणि बऱ्याच गोष्टींचा बळी आहे.

हे सगळं इथं लिहतोय कारणं, असे कित्येक प्रीतम आजही फक्त कोव्हीड पॉझिटिव्ह येऊ नये आणि परीक्षेला आपण मुकू नये या भीतीपोटी सदाशिव पेठ, कोल्हापुरातील सायबर चौक, शिवाजी पेठ आणि राज्यातील इतर जिल्ह्यांत लक्षणे असताना देखील मुकाटपणे सगळं सहन करून अभ्यास करत आहेत. देव करो न हे सगळे यातून सहीसलामत बाहेर पडोत.

पण एवढं मात्र नक्की..स्पर्धा जरूर असावी पण ती जीवावर बेतेल अशी नक्कीच नसावी. येत्या रविवारी आयोगाची संयुक्त पूर्वपरीक्षा नियोजित केली आहे. मात्र राज्यातील अनेक विद्यार्थी आज कोरोना पॉझिटिव्ह सापडले आहेत. परवा वैभव शितोळे या विद्यार्थ्याचा सुद्धा असाच दुर्दैवी अंत झाला. काहीजण गंभीर परिस्थितीत उपचार घेत आहेत. मात्र ग्राउंड रिऍलिटी जोपर्यंत जनतेसमोर येत नाही तोपर्यंत या प्रकरणातील दाहकता कधीच कुणाला जाणवणार नाही. ज्या विद्यार्थ्यांनी गेले वर्षभर मनापासून अभ्यास केला आहे आज जे या कोरोनाच्या विळख्यात सापडले आहेत अशा विद्यार्थ्याबद्दल आपण कधी संवेदनशीलपणा दाखवणार आहोत ??? का माणूस म्हटलं की स्वार्थीपणाच समोर येणार…माणुसकी नाही का ??

परीक्षा घेणे न घेणे हा महाराष्ट्र लोकसेवा आयोग आणि राज्यसरकार चा अधिकार आहे परंतु सर्व गोष्टींचा सारासार विचार करून निर्णय घेणे गरजेचे आहे… रात्रंदिवस अभ्यास करणारे सततच्या पुढे ढकलणाऱ्या परिक्षांमुळे खचून गेले आहेत आणि काही कोरोनामुळे… शेवटी निर्णय राज्यसरकार च्या कोर्टातच राहील..
आणि सर्वात महत्वाचे म्हणजे या क्षेत्रातील वास्तव वेळीच ओळखून लवकर बाहेर पडणे हाच सुखकर मार्ग असू शकेल…
